The heir apparent to Toni Bou, Marcelli has been closely linked to Montesa Honda throughout his professional career and the Galician was promoted to the factory team after the retirement of Takahisa Fujinami ahead of the 2020 campaign. A first podium that year at X-Trial Budapest has been a sign of things to come; he has rarely been outside of the rostrum places during the last two season and for the third successive year won the bronze medal. Only a narrow margin behind Jaime Busto in recent seasons, he also kept Toni Bou honest on occasions, and given his constant progression his first win should now be within reach.
